“Did you really just say aliens?” Jethro Gibbs glared at General O’Neill.
Jack sighed in frustration. In theory it had made sense to combine the FBI team and NCIS team in the same meeting. In reality it just meant he had double the amount of interruptions to deal with. Between the questions about why certain people were not invited to the briefing and questions about why he was wasting their time, Jack was about ready to throw in the towel.
Finally Jack turned to Paul Davis. “Show them the videos. I am stepping out for a minute before I strangle someone.”
Jack stepped out of the room and vaguely heard Paul start up the videos introducing the Stargate program and some of the various baddies that they had dealt with.
Eventually Paul stuck his head out the door and gestured for the general to come back. He calmly took his seat and acted like he hadn’t left the room to keep from committing murder.
“What is it you are needing from us?” Aaron Hotchner appeared to be the calmest of everyone that had just been briefed.
“As the program has grown, we have started needing investigators more often. This has been a major issue as we can’t just invite anyone in to some of the scenes. And we have started noticing more crimes committed on Earth using alien technology or involving theft of alien technology.”
“We are working on creating a group of individuals who can handle these cases and also who can go off world and investigate if it becomes necessary. Our largest base outside Colorado is in the Pegasus galaxy and they occasionally need investigators to come in and handle crimes that the senior staff cannot handle.”
Jack nodded at Paul to let him know to hand out the next stack of folders which contained personnel information about Agent Eppes and his teammates. “We have already recruited an FBI team out of California as well as a couple of professors who consult with them. The team is lead by Agent Don Eppes. They have already accepted the assignment and are getting prepared to move to the base we are setting up in Texas.”
Paul took over and finished giving an idea about what their plans were. “There has been talk about preparing the program to go public. Our first priority is getting Homeworld Security set up and running smoothly before that ever happens.”
“We understand that this a big commitment, especially for those of you with families. So you each have a week to decide if you want to join Homeworld. And if you do decide to join, we will work on reading your families in on the project before you are relocated.”
Slowly people began filing out of the room in small groups. Gibbs and Fornell were the first out closely followed by Rossi and Hotchner. The other members of the two teams were slower to leave but eventually Paul and Jack were the only ones left.
Jack sighed and leaned back in his seat. These three teams were either going to get along great or were going to kill each other.
