Fic #3 in Alternate World
General O’Neill and Major Davis stood at the back of the room as their first batch of recruits slowly started entering the conference room that they had taken over. They could easily see that not everyone was happy to be there. But when the FBI director personally requested everyone for this meeting, no one said no.
As everyone started sitting down, Jack ran through a mental checklist of who was supposed to be there. Three Eppes men – check. Super sniper, Ian Edgerton – check. Codependent partners Sinclair and Granger – check. Attitude agent Nikki – check. Super profiler, Megan Reeves – check. Tough as nails, Liz Warner – check. No nonsense agent, Terry Lake – check. Forensics king, Matt Li – check. That took care of all of the FBI agents (past and present) plus two of the civilians. Hopefully the last few people would be here soon.
Just as Jack was about to make Paul hunt them down, four more people walked into the room. A quick glance showed them to be Dr. Mildred Finch, Oswald Kittner (how did this kid even qualify?), Dr. Larry Fleinhardt and Dr. Amita Ramanujan.
As Jack headed to his seat, Paul started handing out the non-disclosure forms.
“Before we can tell you why you were asked to be here, you need to sign these forms. They basically say that if you share what you are about to learn with anyone not read into this program, you will disappear into a dark hole somewhere.”
He saw several people look to Don Eppes before starting to read and sign the paperwork. That did not surprise him as he knew that everyone here looked to Don as their leader. Hopefully things would go smoothly when the others he was recruiting joined the team. He wasn’t in the mood to referee between a bunch of alpha types. There was a reason he was looking forward to getting out of DC.
Once Paul had everyone’s paperwork and had checked it over, Jack leaned forward. “I am in charge of an agency called Homeworld Security. Part of my agency is a section called Stargate Command located in Colorado. The SGC travels through the galaxy through stable wormholes.”
He leaned back in his seat and let Paul hand out the briefing packets that they had put together.
